SOUTH WALTON COUNTY BEACHES

Some of the best and most beautiful beaches in the world can be found on the Florida Panhandle, at the Beaches of South Walton. With fanciful names like WaterColor, Seaside, Seascape, and Blue Mountain, over a dozen well-developed beaches await your towel, sand bucket, and swimming pleasure.

In this small area, you can find twenty-six miles of beaches with sugar-white sands, canoe-friendly bayous and streams, marshland teeming with wildlife, and the unbelievably blue Gulf Coast waters.

While most areas on the Gulf Coast offer primarily large hotels and condo complexes for your accommodations, the best way to see the South Walton Beach area is in a more private vacation rental home or a bed and breakfast. The area is filled with tiny towns and communities along the coast, and vivid green lawns back up against the white and blue of the beaches for a breathtaking color combination. In South Walton Beach more than anywhere else in Florida, you can get a feel for what life was like in Florida decades ago.

But that doesn't mean it's backward. Near the charming homes and towns you can find fitness centers, art galleries of every persuasion, and all the amenities you need for your vacation. And the cities of Pensacola and Destin are both nearby.
